Somewhat disturbingly I find this makes perfect sense ...

The UK-based Plain English Campaign awarded US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld its Foot in Mouth Award for the most baffling statement by a public figure. At a news briefing on the war in Iraq, Rumsfeld said:

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me because, as we know, there are know knowns, there are things we know we know. We also know that there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do no know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know."
