Higashi-Kurume
Black-Eye Stream is a favourite place for walkers, runners, and families on weekends. I've often gone for long runs along it while preparing for a race.
Higashi-Kurume
Loads of bridges bisect Black-Eye Stream every few hundred metres, which is great for commuters but not for runners forced to dodge people, bikes, and cars at every blind corner.

Looking west over Higashi-Kurume towards Mt. Fuji from the rooftop parkade of Ito Yokado department store. If you squint you can just make out Mt. Fuji in the middle-left of the photo.
Higashi-Kurume
Someone with a sense of humour named their shop "Keep Going." It's almost at the top of a very steep hill on the way from Higashi-Kurume to Kiyose.
Kiyose
Outside the station at Kiyose. Seiyu is one of the big department store chains in Japan.
Kiyose
A small shrine (to cats?) tucked away down an alley.
Kiyose
Prayer papers blowing in the wind at the entrance of a shrine.
Kiyose
Kanji.
Ikebukuro
This sticker reminded me of my brother Lee's drawings. Although, if you visit his Web site (www.LeeHutzulak.com), I think you'll agree his are much better.
Shibuya
For my life-long buddy, Lee.
Kiyose
Mmm ... hotel cheese.
